Glossostigma 5cm pot

Glossostigma is a very attractive bright green creeping plant with small elongated leaves. It is ideal for creating a carpet or lawn in the foreground of an aquarium.

It is highly prized in Japanese-inspired aquariums.

Glossostigma is fast-growing and will spread to create a groundcover.

Loves good conditions and tech to grow the very best. CO2 injection and soft water may enhance growth.

What is special about me? Glossostigma has become one of the world's most popular foreground plants. In the wild, it grows submerged and emersed in bogs, flood plains and riverbanks in Australia and New Zealand.

Scientific name: Glossostigma elatinoides

Also known as: Glossostigma, Glosso, Glossy, Small mud-mat

Country of Origin: Mainland Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand

Difficulty: Moderate to Advanced

Light: Prefers good light and may stretch if the light is too low. Glossostigma prefers to not be in the shade of larger plants.

Temperature: 22-28 degrees Celcius

pH: 5 to 7

Tank position: Ideal for the foreground
