How do I know what size filter I need?
Aquarium filtration is a complex subject, but simple aquariums only require a basic level of filtration to function well. Just as important as filter selection is your selection of filter media, which will determine how the filter treats the water it takes in.
The general rule we provide our customers is to choose a filter that has a Litres/Hour equal to 6 times the total volume of your tank.
How do I calculate the size of my tank?
Measure the aquarium in centimetres. Then multiply length by width by height in centimetres. Then divide the total by 1000 to give you the number of litres in your tank.
