Hygrophila pinnatifida is an attractive plant with long fern-like leaves. It is tolerant of a wide range of water parameters and enjoys Co2 but will grow in low-tech tanks.

Hygrophila pinnatifida is an epiphyte and does not need to be planted in the substrate to grow. It can be attached to rocks or driftwood. It can be trimmed as desired or allowed to emerge from the surface where it may grow small purple flowers.

This plant enjoys strong light which will encourage the leaves to become redder in colour.
