The tiger lotus was what I was looking forward to most from my order and it did not disappoint. It fits perfectly in my nano tank i absolutely love it! Was packaged well and arrived quickly.
Healthy and has new growth coming on soon after planting. Came in an order with a few other plants and was very happy with all of them being large, Healthy a clean
I had been looking for a Red Lotus for quite a while and finally found one here. I received my lotus about a week ago and while some parts of the leaves melted away, it quickly settled into my tank conditions and began to produce new leaves. I recommend scapeshop.

Best quality plants i have gotten.
The red tiger lotus was well-packed, arrived safely and in good condition. It is a healthy plant of a decent size. I buy plants regularly from the ScapeShop.
The plant is too big for my tank, I thought the saiz same as the picture
Love it! Great size and condition
Great plant quality as always from the scape shop. Every other supplier I have tried is not consistent so there will be good products until there isn't. Scape shop has consistently high quality aquarium plants. Best place for online plants by far.
Frequently Asked Question
What is a Red Tiger Lotus plant?
Red Tiger Lotus (Nymphaea zenkeri) is a bulb-based aquarium plant native to West Africa. The Red Tiger Lotus produces dramatic deep red, heart-shaped leaves with darker veining. It is one of the most popular centrepiece plants in planted aquariums, prized for its bold colour and fast, eye-catching growth.
How do you plant a Red Tiger Lotus bulb?
To plant a Red Tiger Lotus bulb, place it on top of nutrient-rich substrate and press it down so only about one-third is buried. Never fully bury the Red Tiger Lotus bulb or it will rot. Within 10–15 days, the first red leaves should appear from the bulb.
How long does it take for a Red Tiger Lotus to grow?
A Red Tiger Lotus bulb typically sprouts within 10–15 days under good conditions. The first submerged leaves grow within 2–3 weeks. With strong light, nutrient-rich substrate and warm water, a Red Tiger Lotus can fill the midground of an aquarium with bold red leaves in 6–8 weeks.
Does Red Tiger Lotus need CO2?
Red Tiger Lotus does not require CO2 but grows faster and redder with CO2 injection. Without CO2, Red Tiger Lotus will still thrive given medium-to-strong light, warm water (22–28°C) and iron-rich fertiliser. CO2 mainly intensifies leaf colour and accelerates the growth of new lotus leaves.
How do you keep Red Tiger Lotus submerged?
Red Tiger Lotus prefers medium to high lighting for the deepest red colour. Under low light, leaves stay green or olive. Provide 8–10 hours of full-spectrum aquarium LED light. Combined with iron-rich fertiliser, strong lighting brings out the signature red and purple tones of Red Tiger Lotus.
How much light does Red Tiger Lotus need?
Red Tiger Lotus prefers medium to high lighting for the deepest red colour. Under low light, leaves stay green or olive. Provide 8–10 hours of full-spectrum aquarium LED light. Combined with iron-rich fertiliser, strong lighting brings out the signature red and purple tones of Red Tiger Lotus.
Why is my Red Tiger Lotus turning green?
A Red Tiger Lotus turns green due to insufficient lighting or lack of iron. To restore the red colour, increase light intensity, extend the photoperiod to 8–10 hours and dose a fertiliser rich in iron. Trim older green leaves to encourage new red growth from the Red Tiger Lotus bulb.
